Equity Tools

The following tools were developed by CCCSE’s colleagues at the Office of Community College Research and Leadership (OCCRL).

The tools—issue briefs and spotlight series documents—explore equity-centered practices that college professionals—including faculty, department chairs, deans, and directors—can employ to ensure all students are learning.

Brief Number 5 is intended to supplement Briefs 1–4. The supplemental exercises and resources it contains can be used to further understanding of issues pertinent to racial equity on community college campuses with the goal of initiating discussions that prompt action.

The spotlight series documents can be used alone or as complements to the issue briefs.

OCCRL has also produced Community Colleges for All (CC-ALL), a series of digital material that promotes and fosters success and equitable programs for diverse learners as they move through their guided programs. These bite-sized video vignettes show topics of critical importance that aim to foster student success and equitable outcomes.

CCCSE Executive Director Linda García and Former OCCRL Director Eboni Zamani-Gallaher hosted a webinar on November 11, 2020, that highlighted these tools.
