The Continuing Evolution of Guided Pathways
Guided Pathways began with a focus on creating clearer program maps, helping students enter a pathway, supporting them as they progress, and ensuring that learning leads to further education and meaningful careers.
As colleges have implemented and refined this work, Guided Pathways has continued to evolve. The field’s attention has expanded beyond the design of pathways to include how students experience those pathways, whether institutional practices work as intended, and how colleges sustain and deepen improvement over time.
CCCSE’s Pathways resources connect student engagement data, student and faculty voices, and institutional improvement efforts. Together, they can help colleges examine whether their structures and strategies are producing the experiences they intend for students.
