The Center for Community College Student Engagement will host a special-focus convening for tribal colleges participating in the Tribal Student Success and Completion (TSSC) Project on September 27-28, 2018, at the Marquette Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton in Minneapolis, MN.

Purpose

The purposes of the workshop are to provide an overview of the SENSE, CCSSE data results, for the participants to review the data as a tribal college consortium, to guide tribal community colleges to identify a student engagement benchmark to further review and strengthen, and to initiate important discussions crucial to increase student success and completion rates.

Logistics

Generous funding from the Ascendium Education Group will cover on-site expenses for each participant, including:

  • Workshop registration
  • One-night stay at the Marquette Hotel (night of September 27)
  • Meeting materials
  • Meals (Welcome Reception, Breakfast, and Lunch)

The college is responsible for arranging and covering other travel expenses for participants.

Hotel Reservations
Reservations will be arranged by the Center based on workshop registration. There is no action needed from registered participants to secure hotel rooms.

Please keep in mind that the hotel will require a major credit card from each guest upon check-in. Individual participants are responsible for any incidental costs, as well as for lodging on additional nights.

For the convenience of teams flying into Minneapolis, the hotel has transportation information on how to get to the hotel. See the hotel website for maps and directions.

Registration

Participating colleges are invited to send a team of up to three people to the workshop. The recommended composition for teams can include any of the following staff members:

  • President or CEO
  • Chief academic officer
  • Chief student services officer
  • Lead institutional research officer
  • Faculty leader

During registration, one person from each college team should be designated as the Team Facilitator. This person will serve as the primary point of contact between the college and Center staff.
