Administered during the spring semester to mostly returning students, CCSSE asks about institutional practices and student behaviors that are highly correlated with student learning and retention. The survey can be administered in the classroom or online.

Advancing the Student Experience: The Next Frontiers (for students)
This CCSSE additional item set explores how students connect their programs of study to employment and transfer opportunities, develop adaptable skills for a changing world, experience onboarding, make informed academic and career decisions, and navigate the time and cost of completing their educational goals.
These items extend beyond the topics addressed in the core CCSSE survey to examine emerging approaches to advancing the student experience.
Advancing the Student Experience: The Next Frontiers (for faculty)
This additional item set explores faculty knowledge of employment and transfer pathways, the use of career-connected and experiential learning, and the institutional information, systems, and resources that help faculty support students’ academic progress, basic needs, and timely completion of their educational goals.
