Institute Series

Past project — Conducted September 17, 2015 - April 30, 2020

A series of six institutes will be designed by the partner organizations, each institute 2.5 days in length and each attended by teams of varying composition from a selected group of 30 community colleges. The ultimate goal of the institute series is to advance serious work on the various necessary aspects of the design and implementation of structured student pathways leading to high-quality community college credentials and then to family-supporting jobs, either directly out of the community college or after transfer and baccalaureate attainment. The format for institutes will combine discussions with experts, experiences shared by colleges already implementing pathways (or critical features thereof, such as redesigned advising systems), and facilitated discussion/planning sessions for the college teams. An expected outcome of the project is design and testing of an approach that can be replicated in the post-grant period with additional groups of institutions; and a further outcome will be expansion of the available pool of experts qualified to provide technical assistance to colleges as they undertake pathway design and implementation.
